Chancel Choir - Carl Lipke, Director Our chancel Choir meets Wednesdays from September thru May at 7:45 to 9:00 in the choir room. Contact Carl Lipke (See: Music page.)

Carl Lipke is the director of the chancel choir. Carl was the choral director at North St. Paul High School for many years and was named Music Educator of the Year in 1999. Carl Lipke currently directs the North High Alumni Choir. The North High Alumni Choir performs at the Maplewood Community Center twice a year as well as area churches.

Jubilee Ringers Bell Choir - Addie Thompson, Director (08) The Jubilee Ringers meet on Wednesday Evening September thru May at 6:15 to 7:30 in the Sanctuary

• The Jubilee Ringers at Salem Lutheran Church in West St. Paul, MN always welcome new ringers to our weekly rehearsals! Rehearsals are Wednesday Evenings - 6:15 p.m. (6PM during Lent) - September through May at the church! The Jubilee Ringers generally ring for the worship service on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.

• Ringing events each year include Special Concerts, sharing ourselves and our bell ringing with seniors citizens and nursing home residents in the community, ringing at special church events, and ringing at the regular Sunday morning worship service.

• We ring with 5 octaves of Schulmerich Handbells and 3 octaves of Malmark Handbells and also use a 4 1/2 octave set of Malmark Choirchimes (Handchimes).

• Addie Thompson, director in 2008 ... In September, Addie Thompson was welcomed as the new Director of the Jubilee Ringers. She and her husband came from Ames, Iowa. She is pursuing a Doctorate in Applied Plant Sciences, Plant Breeding/Genetics at the University of Minnesota, St. Paul Campus.

Contemporary Worship Band - Spirit Rising Spirit Rising is led by Lori French (See: Spirit Rising)

Lori French has been leading the Salem "Spirit Rising" contemporary worship band since it's beginning. She has taught music in the public schools and has conducted choral groups such as the 3M Male Chorus.

Organist - Ken Denzer

   

Judy has joined the Salem Music Staff in the Fall of 2008 to "share" the organist position with Ken Denzer (Ken would like to reduce his time involvement). Judy will be playing about every other month for Salem worship services. Judy has served as a "fill-in" organist for Salem for a number of years and is a very accomplished musician. Her husband, Norm, is a pastor in the ELCA. Judy's roots are in the West St. Paul area as her father served as Pastor at Augustana Lutheran Church a number of years ago.

Children's Choir

Jean Lipke is the current director of the Salem Children's Choir.
