Re: How To Submit Materials

In talking with Peter Gudel about the web site, he says he has sensed a confusion about "how to submit materials" for the web site. I hope that I can help with that in some way.

There are several ways that one can submit material.

  1. (Beginners) The most basic way (not recommended for a long term process) is to place anything that you wish on the web site in handwritten or typed form in my mailbox at Salem. This is probably very similar to the traditional process of Salem Bulletin material and can certainly help in "getting started" with web activity. If you are a telephone person, you can just call me with the information. (It is hoped that the process will quickly advance to one of the processes below.)

  2. (Moderate Computer User) (For the little more electronically aware person) If you have a computer and make it a practice to type your material, this material can be printed and submitted as in step 1 above or the document file you created can be saved to a floppy disk. The floppy disk can then be placed in my mailbox at Salem and I will get the information from the disk.

  3. (Much more advanced - Nice work!) If you have a computer and an email service and make it a practice to type your material on the computer, you can send me a brief email message and attach the document file you created to the email message or just "copy and paste" your work into the body of the email message.
[You can copy/paste into the Send an email window here but you will have to type my email address in your email program (webman(A)slcwsp.org -- you will have to supply the correct symbol to replace the (A) for spamming reasons).]

  4. (For electronic and web savvy people - You are getting there!) If you have a computer, have internet access, and regularly browse/surf the World Wide Web, you will have probably developed some technics unique to that process. Browse the Salem Web site and click on items that take you to different pages - yes the site has many pages - so you "get familiar" with the organization and location of items on the site.
Please notice that there are various places on the web site where one may click a "SUBMIT" hyperlink (an underlined clickable item) and can submit information right on the web site by typing in information (or by copy/paste from another document). Give these submit forms (that's what they are called) a try. They really work. [Try 'em out]

I have tried to keep this communication very simple, brief, and straight forward. I am personally available for help at any time. Please call or send an email if you need help!

I would like to encourage you to consider "content" as the first order of business. Formatting considerations can come later.
